Yamaha NPS 2000 network player

Yamaha have produced an extremely high quality network player using the design philosophies of their flagship CDS2000 and AS2000 products. This uses the same battleship build quality of these hi-end hi-fi separates, and extreme care has been taken to ensure the integrity of the original signal.

By not incorporating a drive of any sort, the NPS2000 does away with all associated noises and interferences, keeping the noise floor low.

The NPS2000 uses dual Burr Brown D/A convertors working in monaural mode for independent left/right outputs. The signal is then fed into independent low pass filters and balanced transmission circuits at all stages. Fed into the balanced input of an amplifier or pre-amplifier, the NPS2000 guarantees a pure, natural sound. A high performance clock circuit provides precise timing, reducing jitter to an absolute minimum.

The NPS2000 uses two independent power supplies, one for analogue and one for digital, to prevent any noise/interference between the two.

The included TwonkyMedia software makes it easy to enjoy your files from iTunes. The player is DNLA 1.5 certified, and Windows 7 compatible. Plus, other than the supplied remote control, the NPS2000 can be controlled by a downloadable app for your iPod or iPhone. It’s software is Java Script compatible.

Other than the fully balanced XLR outputs, the NPS2000 also has the usual standard phono connections, as well as one optical and coaxial digital output.
